As OceanMind's Senior Fisheries Analyst, Tia provides monitoring support and supervision to the primary analyst team and carries out quality assurance and analysis across a range of programmes. Since joining OceanMind in 2018, she has developed specialist expertise in remote sensing and global fisheries monitoring. Tia works with governments and NGO partners in intelligence gathering and patrol support, Port State Measures Agreement implementation, and monitoring around heritage and protected sites. She brings extensive experience producing multi-year strategic risk and threat assessments across vast maritime areas, with a focus on IUU fishing threats and collision risk analysis. With a master’s degree in ichthyology and fisheries management from Rhodes University, Tia believes that research, analysis, and effective management are vital to ensuring the long-term sustainability of our marine resources.
